Kevin Pietersen smashed 79 from 51 balls for the Dolphins in their T20 Challenge clash with the Cape Cobras.
The former England star came in with his side 19-1 in the third over and remained at the crease until he finally succumbed in the final over of the innings - caught at deep midwicket off the bowling of Rory Kleinveldt.
By that time though, Pietersen had launched five huge sixes into the legside, including one that bounced on the roof of the stand on its way out of the stadium.
The 36-year-old's fifty was his 27th in T20 cricket and came during a partnership of 89 with Khaya Zondo for the fourth wicket.
That helped the Dolphins post a competitive total of 178-5 from their 20 overs but it was not enough. Half-centuries from Richard Levi and Dane Vilas, as well as an unbeaten 31 from 21 balls by Kieron Pollard, seeing the Cobras over the line with eight balls to spare.
Our coverage of the T20 Challenge continues with Titans v Lions from 4pm on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports 4.
