Highlights of the second day of the fourth Test between India and England in Mumbai, including Jos Buttler's fifty

Michael Atherton reckoned 350 would represent a competitive first-innings score for England in Mumbai - but they bettered that by going on to make 400 on day two of the fourth Test.

Watch the pick of the action so far in the video at the top of the page.

Jos Buttler (76) backed up the fine work from debutant Keaton Jennings (112) on day one by completing his sixth Test fifty while sharing an important stand of 54 for the ninth wicket with Jake Ball (31).

England were dismissed around 25 minutes into the second session, Buttler bowled by spinner Ravindra Jadeja (4-109) when looking to club the second six of his innings.

The tourists then claimed one wicket before tea - Moeen Ali luring KL Rahul (24) into a drive and bowling him brilliantly through the gate.

However, that proved to be England's only scalp of the day as Virat Kohli's men reached 146-1 by stumps to trail by 254. Murali Vijay will resume on 70 while Cheteshwar Pujara is 47 not out, the pair having added 107 for the second wicket.

Ravichandran Ashwin (6-112) earlier completed his 23rd Test five-for, adding the wickets of Ben Stokes (31) and Ball to his scalps of Jennings (112), Joe Root (21), Moeen Ali (50) and Johnny Bairstow (14) on day one.

Stokes's exit was controversial, though - the all-rounder given caught behind on review despite seeming adamant that the noise on Ultra Edge was bat hitting ground and not bat on ball.
