Haseeb Hameed injured in Lancashire season opener against Cambridge MCCU

England batsman Haseeb Hameed has been taken for a scan on his hand after retiring hurt during his opening first-class game of the season for Lancashire.
The 20-year-old opener made an impressive start to his England career during the winter tour of India before a finger injury forced him out of the final match of the series.
Hameed - who scored an unbeaten 59 from 156 deliveries while batting with a broken finger during the third Test in India - faced only 23 balls in Lancashire's game against Cambridge MCCU on Sunday before being withdrawn.
Lancashire tweeted: "Haseeb Hameed has returned to Fenner's following a precautionary scan of his hand this morning. He will be reassessed overnight."
Their first County Championship game of 2017 sees them travel to newly promoted Essex on Friday, April 7.
Following his injury in India, Hameed played three matches for England Lions in Sri Lanka in February, scoring just 78 runs in six innings, while sinus surgery saw him miss last month's Champion County match in Abu Dhabi, when he was due to play for the MCC against Middlesex.
