Matt explains how he stopped during his day to watch the moment Cook reached three figures, as it felt like he was witnessing a piece of cricketing history.

Despite his hundred raising the question of whether the opening batsman should be retiring, with plenty clearly still left in the tank, Matt added that the all the time in the spotlight and years of playing at the top level have taken their toll and Cook knows the time is right for him to go.

There was also a welcome return to form for Joe Root, who brought up his first century of the series too in a 259-run third-wicket stand with Cook, and Bob believes the England captain is now settled at No 4 which could see him up his conversion rates of turning 50s into 100s.

And, there was still time left in the day's play for Anderson to pick up two wickets to move level with McGrath and Bob is hopeful there is one more fairy-tale left in series for England's all-time leading wicket-taker.
