Scott Borthwick took T20-best figures of 4-18 as Durham beat Leicestershire by five wickets in the NatWest T20 Blast.
Mark Wood also impressed, taking 1-25 as he bowled for the first time since picking up an injury with England in October.
Wood removed Leicestershire captain Mark Pettini for seven, while Borthwick's efforts reduced the Foxes to 98-6 in the 17th over.
Lewis Hill smashed an unbeaten 31 off 15 balls as Leicestershire lifted their score to 146-6 with 36 runs added from the final two overs.
Phil Mustard's 75 not out off 50 balls helped Durham home with nine balls to spare, despite the best efforts of Clint McKay (3-21) with the ball.
McKay removed Ben Stokes (11), caught at cover, as he played purely as a batsman for the Jets having been left out of England's squad for the first Test against Pakistan this week.
In the other game in the North Group, Yorkshire edged out Derbyshire by a single run in a thrilling finish.
Matt Critchley's final-ball six wasn't enough for Derbyshire as Yorkshire held on, defending their total of 166-6.
Kane Williamson was the standout performer with the bat for the Vikings, striking 65 from 46 balls, while England's Adil Rashid impressed with the ball, taking 3-20.
Despite Rashid's efforts, Derbyshire were still favourites with two overs to go, needing 17 to win with six wickets in hand, but David Willey (2-33) took two of four wickets to fall for nine runs in the next 11 balls.
Gloucestershire leapfrogged Glamorgan into top spot in the South Group - albeit having played two games more - as they cruised to a nine-wicket win in Cardiff.
Michael Klinger (56no) and Ian Cockbain (53no) both cracked unbeaten fifties as Gloucestershire comfortably chased down their 120-run target 23 balls to spare.
Graeme van Buuren earlier took 3-19 for the visitors and Tom Smith 2-13 to restrict Glamorgan to just 119-6 - Graham Wagg top scoring with an unbeaten 32 off 23 balls.
