Hampshire youngsters Mason Crane and Brad Wheal have signed contract extensions to remain at the club until 2019.

Leg-spinner Crane is regarded as one of the most exciting young slow bowlers in the country while 20-year-old seamer Wheal enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2016.

"I'm really excited to be committing my immediate future to Hampshire," Crane, 19, said.

"With the core of the young players that the club now has, I firmly believe that the sky is the limit as to what this group can do moving forward."

On Monday Craig White was confirmed as Hampshire first-team coach and on Wednesday West Indian quick Fidel Edwards penned a new one-year deal.
