Chris Nash has been released from his Sussex contract a year early, the county have announced.
The 34-year-old came through the youth ranks in Hove and has spent his entire domestic professional career with Sussex since making his first-class debut in 2002.
A statement on the club's website read: "Chris requested to be released as he wishes to take his career in another direction. As part of our longer-term plans to move the club forward we have agreed to this request."
Nash, who has scored over 11,000 first-class runs during his career, played in Sussex's County Championship title-winning seasons in 2006 and 2007 and helped the county claim their first T20 Cup in 2009.
