Ben Stokes and Alex Hales will not be considered for England selection until further notice, the ECB has announced.
He was released without charge but will be re-interviewed by detectives from Avon and Somerset Police in the next few days following the release of video footage allegedly showing Stokes involved in a brawl outside Mbargo nightclub in Clifton.
Stokes has been asked to travel to Bristol in the next seven days to be interviewed under caution by detectives investigating the events.
Hales, who along with Stokes, missed Wednesday's one-day international against the Windies, has also been contacted by the police and will travel to Bristol in the coming days to speak to investigating officers.
Avon and Somerset police released a statement on Friday asking for witnesses to come forward.
The statement read: "Our enquiries into the disorder in the Queens Road/Clifton Triangle area in the early hours of Monday are continuing.
"We believe there are specific witnesses with information about what happened in the moments prior to the disorder who are yet to come forward and we'd appeal for them to do so as soon as possible."
The ECB statement regarding selection said: "Ben Stokes and Alex Hales will not be considered for selection for England international matches until further notice.
"Each remains on full pay pending further ECB investigation and the on-going Police investigation into an incident in Bristol in the early hours of Monday 25 September.
"Andrew Strauss, Director of England Cricket, will today refer the internal disciplinary procedure for these two players to the Cricket Discipline Commission, chaired by Tim O'Gorman.
"These decisions, fully supported by ECB Chairman Colin Graves, were made following the release of footage viewed by ECB for the first time on Wednesday night."
