India have returned to the top of the Test rankings following Australia's 3-0 series defeat to Sri Lanka, with Pakistan up to second.

India, who had ceded the top spot to Steve Smith's side at the turn of the year, regained it thanks to their recent series victory over West Indies.

That meant Australia had to win the final Test in Colombo to stay top but they were hammered by 163 runs.

Pakistan have also leapfrogged Australia in the rankings table after Misbah-ul-Haq's team drew their series with England - who stay fourth - 2-2 on Sunday.

South Africa have fallen to seventh, having been top as recently as November 2015.
