Line-ups revealed for June races

Team Sky will be looking to continue their momentum heading into the month of June with some big races on the menu. The team return to the Criterium du Dauphine (June 3-10), the scene of Bradley Wiggins’ historic victory in 2011 with the Brit again leading an eight-man squad into battle as he continues to build towards the Tour de France. Joining Wiggins in the race is a strong squad which will line up at the start in Grenoble, including three men who have claimed stage race victory this season in Richie Porte, Edvald Boasson Hagen and Michael Rogers. The roster is completed by Chris Froome, Christian Knees, Danny Pate and Kanstantsin Siutsou. June also sees the Tour de Suisse (June 9-17) take place, the prestigious WorldTour event traditionally providing entertaining racing and culminated last season in a final stage sprint victory for Team Sky’s Ben Swift. Swift is back again in 2012 in a bid to add more victories to his palmares. Joining him will be one of the team’s stand-out performers thus far this season in Lars-Petter Nordhaug.

Return to action

The Norwegian missed out on the Tour de Luxembourg after recovering from illness but will look to make an impact on his return after claiming third overall at the Tour of Norway. Also en route to Switzerland are Michael Barry, Mathew Hayman, Thomas Löfkvist and Xabier Zandio in addition to neo-pros Salvatore Puccio and Luke Rowe. The ZLM Toer (June 14-17) will provide some fast and furious racing, with Mark Cavendish making his return to competitive action following three stage victories at the Giro d’Italia. Joining the Manxman are fellow Giro squad members Bernhard Eisel, Juan Antonio Flecha, Jeremy Hunt and Ian Stannard, while Alex Dowsett and Davide Appollonio also return to Holland looking to improve on fifth and sixth places last season respectively. Chris Sutton completes the line-up. You can find full squads for the month of June here and stay tuned for build-up to our Tour de France squad announcement.
