Kim Huybrechts came from 5-2 down to beat Peter Wright 6-5 in a sensational Singelfinden final as the curtain dropped on the PDC European Tour .
The Belgian claimed a second European Tour title and bagged a spot at the Grand Slam of Darts, roaring back from the dead to deny Wright victory in front of 3,000 German fans.
The final was a fitting end to a night of high drama which had earlier seen Huybrechts edge James Wade 6-4 in one semi-final and Wright run out a 6-5 winner over Mensur Suljovic in the other.
Suljovic had beaten Michael van Gerwen 24 hours previously and missed a shot at bull to beat Wright, but if that was an escape for 'Snakebite' it was the Scot on the wrong end of one in the final.
Finishes of 116 and 161 helped Wright move into a 5-2 lead and within one leg of the title, but Huybrechts produced his best darts with his back to the wall.
A 140 checkout got him back to 5-3, and when Wright missed a match-winning shot at double 16 Huyberechts found the same bed to get within one leg.
Better followed as he nailed a 157 checkout to force a decider, and a shot at double eight saw him take out 64 for the match.
Afterwards Huyberechts said: "I didn't stop believing, and now I can't believe that I won!"
