Peter Wright edged out Benito van de Pas 6-5 in a drama-filled final in Coventry to walk away with his third Players Championship title of 2015.

The world No 4 averaged over 107 in the decider and landed an impressive seven maximums to seal victory against the young Dutchman.

Both players landed maximums in the final leg, but van de Pas missed the bull for a 127 checkout to snatch victory, and Wright came up to the oche to hit double six for a 14-darter to win.

'Snakebite' saw off two-time World Champion Adrian Lewis 6-3 in the quarter-finals before defeating the in-form Mensur Suljovic by the same scoreline in the last four.
