Martin 'Wolfie' Adams is happy to return to this year's Grand Slam of Darts and has laughed off any thoughts of retirement.

The three-time BDO world champion made a memorable first appearance at last year's tournament in Wolverhampton, finishing top of his group before he eventually lost a tense last-16 clash with Kim Huybrechts.

Adams accepted an invitation to the PDC event with the backing of the BDO and is willing to make another trip to the Midlands, if he is welcomed back by organisers.

"It depends if I get the invite," Adams told Sky Sports. "It's down to the PDC to invite me.

"It's their tournament so they invite who they believe should be in it. Whether they've got a qualification criteria from BDO side of it, I don't know. At the end of the day it's all down to the invitation."

Asked if he would accept an invitation, Adams said: "Yeah, absolutely yeah. I had a bit of fun didn't I?"

The former England captain is approaching his 60th birthday, but has refused to think about ending his competitive career.

"As long as I keep waking up in the morning, it's always a good day," he joked. "As long I keep waking up, I'll keep playing. I'll just keep going as long as I enjoy it."

Adams suffered a shock defeat to Jeff Smith in his opening match at the BDO World Championship, but responded with his second successive title win at The Dutch Open, beating Danny Noppert 3-1 in the final.

"It was a good win from my point of view, without a doubt," said Adams. "I'm the only player who has won it four times. It was two on the spin as well.

"A little bit of experience may have counted and it was the end of a long day as well. Maybe I wasn't as tired as Danny was."

Reflecting on his future plans, Adams added: "I'll just keep winning me, I'm enjoying it. Keep doing the exhibition nights, the show nights and stuff."
