However, now darts has come to the rematch party and the high octane affairs mentioned above were rendered trivial at the Winter Gardens on Tuesday night, as Alastair Cook and James Anderson squared off once again.

Friday's second Test against Pakistan took a back-seat for one evening as these cricketing superstars acceded to public demand and put friendship to one side for the second time.

England captain Cook famously got the better of Anderson when they first clashed back in 2014 - and England's all-time leading wicket-taker has been thirsting for revenge ever since.
