Phil Taylor suffered a shock defeat to Corey Cadby in the first round of the Perth Masters.
'The Power' had defeated Cadby on the way to winning the Sydney Masters title last weekend, but the 21-year-old Australian avenged this loss with a stunning 6-2 victory.
Even an average of over 111 was not good enough to spare Taylor from defeat, just a few days after he had beaten world No 1 Michael van Gerwen to claim the trophy on Sunday.
Cadby claimed a break with a classy 122 checkout and then held his nerve to seal an upset victory over the 16-time world champion.
"I don't know what to say, it's an amazing moment!" said Cadby. "I'm buzzing, it's a proud moment and the best moment of my darts career.
"I felt confident last week, for my first TV game I did well and I knew where I went wrong. I fixed them this week and it's paid off. It was revenge, it's great.
"I knew what I had to throw to beat Phil. He's the greatest player ever and I'm glad someone stopped his record in Australia."
Van Gerwen avoided a similar early exit as he completed victory over Kyle Anderson, in a repeat of last week's match.
The Dutchman had claimed a comfortable quarter-final win over Anderson, but had to hold off the hometown player to complete a tense 6-4 win on this occasion.
Gary Anderson joined Van Gerwen in the next stage after a 6-3 win over Kim Lewis, while Adrian Lewis and Peter Wright also advanced with victories.
James Wade had been left red-faced after a defeat to Rhys Mathewson in Sydney and produced a ruthless response, thrashing Rob Szabo 6-0.
Raymond van Barneveld eased past Simon Whitlock with a 6-2 win and Dave Chisnall was another first round winner.
