Michael van Gerwen secured his 17th title of 2016 with victory in Tuesday's Players Championship 14 in Barnsley.
The Dutch superstar blanked Mensur Suljovic 6-0 in the final to make it three successive tournament victories and continue his domination of the sport.
Van Gerwen picked up where he left off in two recent European Tour titles with only semi-final victim John Henderson able to take more than three legs off him in the best-of-11 format.
Before his superb performance in the final, Van Gerwen had produced fireworks in routing world No 3 Adrian Lewis without dropping a set in their last-16 encounter.
In-form James Wilson was dispatched 6-2 at the quarter-final stage before his toughest match, Scotsman Henderson playing some of his best darts of the year to push Van Gerwen.
Suljovic, who recently won his first PDC Tour event in Germany, made it through to the final with a 6-2 win over Mick McGowan after earlier knocking out Joe Cullen and Justin Pipe for the loss of only five legs.
Van Gerwen narrowly beat Suljovic in one of his European Tour successes, that match going to an 11th-leg decider, but Tuesday's match proved much more one-sided.
Two more Players Championship events will take place on Wednesday and Thursday at the same Metrodome venue, with £75,000 prize funds for both.
