Michael van Gerwen to face Martin Adams in Grand Slam of Darts

Defending champion Michael van Gerwen has been drawn in the same group as two-time BDO king Martin Adams in the Grand Slam of Darts at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.
Top seed Van Gerwen will take on Adams - Lakeside champ in 2010 and 2011 - in a Group A also featuring Brendan Dolan and Max Hopp.
The Dutchman's beaten opponent in last year's final, Phil Taylor, is up against Ian White, Darren Webster and the BDO's Darryl Fitton in the round robin stage of the cross-organisation event, live on Sky Sports from November 12.
Current PDC world champ Gary Anderson is in the same group as Glen Durrant, who tops the latest BDO rankings, while BDO world title-holder Scott Waites is in Group B with Robert Thornton, Gerwyn Price and Dimitir Van den Bergh.
The tournament features 32 players - eight from the BDO - and the top two in each group make it to the knockout phase.
