PDC World Darts Championship: Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price are in action
Friday 16 December 2016 17:56, UK
Former finalist Peter 'Snakebite' Wright headlines the second day of action from the World Darts Championship from Alexandra Palace, live on Sky Sports Darts from 7pm.
The colourful Wright, who was runner-up to Michael van Gerwen in 2014, takes on either Jerry Hendriks or Warren Parry, who meet in the preliminary round.
Then there's an all-Welsh battle as one of the tournament dark horses Gerwyn Price faces Jonny Clayton. 'The Ferret' will walk to the stage to 'Johnny B. Goode' by Chuck Berry, so expect a few moves on the oche.
Sandwiched in the middle is the meeting of former Lakeside champion Steve Beaton and South Africa's Devon Petersen.
'The Bronzed Adonis' Beaton was a BDO winner in 1996 and now the 52-year-old has eyes on glory 20 years after that famous victory over Richie Burnett in the final.
Beaton is also famous for his walk-on music and obligatory medallion as he takes to the stage to 'Stayin' Alive' by The Bee Gees.
Preliminary & First Round
Jerry Hendriks v Warren Parry (P)
Gerwyn Price (19) v Jonny Clayton
Steve Beaton (27) v Devon Petersen
Peter Wright (3) v Hendriks/Parry
