Simon Whitlock and Martin Schindler missed 22 darts at the double between them in just one leg!

Simon Whitlock and Martin Schindler missed a total of 22 darts at the double in a leg of madness during their World Darts Championship clash on Wednesday night.

The ultimate nightmare occurred in the first leg of the third set between 'The Wizard' Whitlock and 21-year-old Schindler from Germany.

Both players were left on double one, which is known as 'Madhouse' in darting terms until Schindler finally nailed it to the delight of the Alexandra Palace audience.

Whitlock, the 2010 finalist, eventually won the match 3-1 to reach the second round and a meeting with Darren Webster or Devon Petersen.
