Phil Taylor made his final walk-on before his World Championship final against Rob Cross. Darts' greatest-ever player has retired from the sport.

Former electrician Cross was the only man left standing between Taylor and a 17th world title on what was his final appearance as a professional darts player.

Taylor - the greatest the sport has seen - retired after Monday's final at Alexandra Palace, which he lost 7-2.

The 2018 Premier League is the next major darting event on Sky Sports, running from February to May. Dublin's hugely popular 3Arena will open the 2018 season on Thursday, February 1 from 7pm on Sky Sports Action with the season concluding at the Play-Offs on May 17 at The O2 in London.
