Krzysztof Ratajski won his first PDC title

WILLIAM HILL WORLD DARTS CHAMPIONSHIP

Krzysztof Ratajski defeated Daryl Gurney to win UK Open Qualifier Six on Sunday night.

Ratajski became the first Polish winner of a PDC event by beating Premier League Darts star Gurney 6-4 in the final.

Ratajski scooped the £60,000 prize just a month after failing to win a PDC Tour Card.

He follows Corey Cadby in claiming his maiden PDC Pro Tour title this weekend, while the success also improves his chances of qualifying for the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix and World Championship later this year.

Meanwhile Rob Cross, who has lost both of his opening two Premier League fixtures, completed a run to the semi-final on Sunday a day after making the final.

The 2018 Premier League heads to the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle next Thursday with coverage underway from 7pm on Sky Sports Action. Fourteen weeks of tungsten action will continue through to the season's conclusion with the Play-Offs on May 17 at The O2 in London.
