Gary Anderson says he will play on for a few more years yet despite suffering from pain after beating Simon Whitlock

Talking point

In the penultimate week before Judgement Night, Suljovic will be desperate for a win to move himself away from the bottom two. His last victory in the campaign came against Gerwyn Price in Berlin. Anderson, who enjoyed a hero's reception in Glasgow, could move into the top four with two points in the night's opening encounter.

Michael Smith v Gerwyn Price

Talking point

On paper there appears to be only one likely winner in this meeting. High-flying Smith suffered only his second Premier League defeat of the season against MvG in Glasgow while Price is yet to pick up a win. The Welshman needs to avoid defeat against Bully Boy to stand any chance of progressing to the second phase.

Michael van Gerwen is looking forward to locking horns with fellow countryman Raymond van Barneveld in Belfast next week.

Talking point

MvG edged a thrilling meeting against Barney at the World Championship in the quarter-finals and the expectation is for another titanic tussle. The world No 1 comes into the match on the back of his third European Open title at the weekend while Van Barneveld thrashed Peter Wright 7-1 last week to move into the top four.

Talking point

This will be the first meeting of the year between the pair as world champion Cross aims to maintain his unbeaten record against Gurney. Superchin is sure to have home support on his side but Voltage is a man in form after five Premier League wins on the bounce. A positive result for Gurney would increase his chances of progressing past Judgement Night in his debut year of the event.

Daryl Gurney says he had lost his confidence due to poor form ahead of beating Mensur Suljovic

Simon Whitlock v Peter Wright

Peter has never been in this position before. He has had the odd defeat and had darts to win tournaments and not made them but that is different to losing 7-1 three times on the trot. It is going to take big strong character [to arrest this]. He has got to find a set of darts and a set of flights that perhaps he won tournaments with a year ago.
Rod Harrington after Wright's third consecutive 7-1 defeat

Talking point

It has been quite the week for Wright. Snakebite looked a shadow of his best as he suffered a third consecutive 7-1 Premier League defeat in Glasgow. A few days later and he was a dart away from beating Van Gerwen in the European Darts Open final. His strong showing in Germany should provide reason for optimism as the Scotsman goes in search of a second win. Whitlock is also searching for a return to form and is without a win in four matches in the Premier League.

I've been struggling big time, and to take seven legs off Michael van Gerwen - the best player there is at the moment - makes me very happy. I thought the bullseye [to win] was going, I was ready to shake his hand but it wasn’t to be.
