McDermott keen on play-offs

New signing Donal McDermott has targeted a return to the League One play-offs after joining Bournemouth on transfer deadline day.

The 22-year-old winger, who arrived from Huddersfield for an undisclosed fee, spent a period of time on loan at Dean Court last season, making 11 appearances and scoring twice as he helped the Cherries into the end-of-term showpiece. And McDermott is keen to replicate that achievement this time around after signing a three-and-a-half-year deal in Dorset. He told the club's official website: "I had a lot of love for this club after my loan spell last season. It was a great experience and now I'm delighted to be back here because this is a great club and there's no reason why we can't get back to the same level this season. "I've come here to fight for my place. There's an unbelievable squad here and it's down to me to work hard and get myself in the side. "I'm so happy to be back here and my aim is to help the club as much as I can. The quality is here to have success this season, most definitely."
