Northampton Town have terminated the contract of defender David Artell by mutual consent.
The 32-year-old centre-back, who joined the Cobblers last summer, spent time on loan at Wrexham last season and has been released before the transfer window has shut, meaning he can find a new club outside of the window. "There are no hard feelings with Dave and it suits both parties to go our separate ways," said boss Aidy Boothroyd. "Sometimes moves just don't work out and Dave was unlucky with injury last season. We wish him well for the future."
