Leyton Orient goalkeeper Jamie Jones has agreed to join Preston when his contract expires.

The 25-year-old, who turned down a new deal to extend his six-year stay with Orient, will join their League One rivals North End on July 1 on a two-year deal. Preston manager Simon Grayson told their official website: "Jamie has had two good years at Orient, being at the top end of the division, being very consistent and he is still young with lots of improving still to be done and we feel he will fit in well to the group." Jones added: "It feels great to be signing, a club like Preston is where I want to be at this part of my career and it is where I want to try and push myself to be in the next division and Preston's goals are exactly the same as mine." Jones departs after 179 appearances for the club and his final appearance came in the play-off final defeat to Rotherham at Wembley last month.
