Brentford have completed the signing of Crewe striker Clayton Donaldson.

The 27-year-old scored 28 goals for Dario Gradi's Railwaymen last season, making him the division's top scorer. Donaldson spent three years with Crewe in which he scored 49 goals in 134 appearances in all competitions but now becomes new Bees' manager Uwe Rosler's fourth summer signing. Rosler told the club's official website: "I worked for some time to get Clayton to the club, he was a player that attracted a lot of interest. "He was our number one target up front from day one and I am very happy to get him. "His goal record in the last 18 months is second to none. I am confident he will continue to score goals at League One level."
