Cumbrians hopeful on Murphy

Carlisle defender Peter Murphy is expected to be back in contention for next Saturday's home clash with Sheffield United.

The 31-year-old centre-half was forced out of the action with a back problem after pulling up during the goalless weekend draw at Exeter, but has made a dramatic recovery. Cumbrians physio Neil Dalton told the club's official website: "I tried to unlock the joint on the pitch on Saturday, which is why I was sat over him, but it was causing him too much discomfort. "We sent him straight to the dressing room with some ice and he was then told to do as little as possible to allow it to completely settle on Sunday. "The joint has been completely released now and, hopefully, we shouldn't see any further problems."
