John-Joe O'Toole is on target to come back into contention for Colchester's home clash with Bury this weekend.
The midfielder, who has spent six weeks on the sidelines following groin surgery, returned to action for United's reserves on Tuesday night in their Essex Senior Cup clash against AFC Hornchurch. O'Toole got an hour under his belt at the Weston Homes Community Stadium as Colchester ran out 4-1 winners to book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition. He is due to take part in first-team training on Thursday and Friday before hopefully being given the green light to feature on Saturday.
