Iron duo poised to return

Scunthorpe's Cliff Byrne and Paul Reid may return to training this week and Damien Mozika will be back sooner than expected.

Byrne has missed the last two games and Reid has been sidelined for four. Both central defenders have been struggling with groin injuries, while Mozika has been restricted to only eight games since his summer switch from Bury due to an ankle injury. Manager Alan Knill told the club's official website: "We're hoping to have Cliff Byrne and Paul Reid back in training on Monday or Tuesday. "So that, along with Jimmy Ryan getting 75 minutes against Exeter, is a big positive, as is the fact that Damien Mozika will be back sooner than first feared - it won't be four or five weeks now." Midfielder Ryan made his comeback from a cruciate knee ligament injury when he stepped off the bench in the recent home defeat to Carlisle and started his first game in three months in Saturday's goalless draw at Exeter.
