Millers make loan move for Wood

Rotherham United have signed midfielder Sam Wood on loan from League One outfit Brentford until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old is back at Don Valley after his original two-month stay ended following the 3-0 win over Bradford on January 2. Wood returned to London as it looked like the deal had fallen through, but manager Andy Scott has managed to resurrect it. "He's a League One player. We want enthusiasm, energy, ability and desire and he has got all of those," Scott said. "We offered him a permanent deal, but it just didn't work out so this is probably the best deal for all parties because it gets him playing and if we can do something in the summer then great. "We're delighted to have him on board. I have known him for a while and he has never let me down and I don't anticipate him doing that in the future."
