Shakers land Terriers defender

Bury have signed Nathan Clarke on loan until the end of the season from League One rivals Huddersfield.

The defender, 28, has played more than 300 games for the Terriers but has not featured for the West Yorkshire side since January 2011 and has had loan spells at Colchester and Oldham. Boss Simon Grayson told the club's official website: "Everyone at this football club has got an opportunity and this move does not spell the end of Nathan's time with Huddersfield. "However, when a team comes in for a player you have to do what is best for the player and, at this moment in time, Nathan needs first-team football." Clarke could make his Shakers debut against Carlisle at Brunton Park on Saturday.
