Ben Coker is eager to commit his future to Colchester as soon as possible after being told will be offered a new deal.

The left-back is one of several U's players whose current terms expire in the summer but he has be reassured by manager John Ward that he has a future at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. And Coker, who has made a total of 23 appearances this season, is eager to put pen to paper at the earliest opportunity. "I've spoken with the gaffer and he said he wants to offer me a new contract," the 21-year-old told the Daily Gazette. "It's great news for me and I hope to sit down and get it signed very soon. "I didn't want to go into the summer not having something signed and it would be good to get it wrapped up."
