Blackburn defender joins for a month

Hartlepool United have completed the loan signing of Eddie Nolan from Blackburn Rovers. The Republic of Ireland Under 21 international has moved to the League One club for a month, after spending a spell on loan at Stockport County last season. The defender has made just one senior appearance for Blackburn, but Pools boss Danny Wilson is expecting Nolan to make an impact. "He's an up-and-coming player who is very promising for his age," Wilson, who was keen to make a signing before the loan deadline, told the club's official website. "I am delighted that Blackburn have allowed him to come here and I would like to thank Mark Hughes and Glyn Hodges for their help in this. "Hopefully he'll be a good acquisition for us because he's a quality player and someone I am very much looking forward to working with. "I'm hoping his spell with us will be beneficial to the club and also help Eddie progress."
