Terriers lose appeal on Lee ban

Huddersfield have failed in their appeal against the straight red card received by striker Alan Lee during the weekend win over Notts County.

The club were confident referee Darren Drysdale's decision to send off Lee following an aerial challenge with County defender Sam Sodje would be overturned, but he must now serve a three-game ban. A Huddersfield statement read: "At a meeting of the regulatory commission of the Football Association held [on Tuesday], members considered Huddersfield Town's claim for wrongful dismissal in the case of Alan Lee's red card against Notts County on Saturday. "From the evidence provided, the members ruled that it was not a case of wrongful dismissal and as a result the appeal was unsuccessful." Lee will miss league games at Charlton on November 28, at home against Bournemouth on December 10 and at Sheffield Wednesday on December 17.
