Huddersfield's promotion challenge has been handed a boost after Jordan Rhodes signed a new two-year contract extension.

The extension means the 21-year-old striker will now stay at the Galpharm Stadium until the summer of 2015. "It is fantastic to have extended my deal. Everyone associated with the club have been great for me - it is more than a privilege, it is an honour to have extended my contract," he told the club's official website. Terriers manager Lee Clark was also pleased to tie down the striker, who has scored 39 goals in 88 appearances for the club. Clark said: "It is positive news for us; he has been very good for us since his arrival and has scored a lot of goals. He is a good lad, who wants to improve and hopefully that will happen during his time with us."
