Orient waiting on Cureton

Leyton Orient striker Jamie Cureton hopes to be fit for Saturday's opening game of the season against Walsall.

The much-travelled 35-year-old, a summer signing from Exeter, has been struggling to recover from a recent ankle operation. But he came on during the first half of Friday's friendly against a Tottenham XI for his first appearance in an Orient shirt and is now targeting a competitive debut at the weekend. "It was just pleasing to be out there," he said. "Touch wood everything will settle down and I can crack on from here and hopefully prepare for the first game."
