Chesterfield's assistant manager Tommy Wright wants his squad to tighten up defensively after a 3-1 home defeat to in-form Notts County.
The loss made it four successive defeats for the club. Ben Burgess gave County a 21st-minute lead, Alan Judge struck a second in the 39th minute and although Craig Westcarr pulled one back for Chesterfield after the break, Drew Talbot's late own goal sealed the points for Martin Allen's side. Chesterfield manager John Sheridan watched from the stands at the start of a touchline ban and Wright said: "We gave away poor goals that a youth team would have been disappointed to conceed and we're not going to win matches like that. We're in a bit of a dogfight now and we'll see how strong we are. "We're in a different league and are coming up against better players and teams will punish you, so we have to deal with that. We're playing nice stuff in patches, but we have to defend better. "We need to look at ourselves and what we are doing. I think going forward we'll score goals, but we can't defend like that. If Barcelona defend like that, they will lose games, it's as simple as that. If you don't defend properly, you will get beaten."
