Fon Williams in slow recovery

Tranmere goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams says he is taking his recovery slowly after having wires inserted into his broken hand.

The 24-year-old is expected to be out for around eight weeks after undergoing an operation on the injury and will not rush his return. "The operation went OK, the doctor was happy with everything that was done," he told Rovers' official website. "I go back for a check-up next week then I'll have the wire out in three weeks if everything has gone well. "I should be in a different cast for two more weeks then I should be able to start back training, fingers crossed. "I'm trying to keep fit but I'm just doing what I'm told by the doctor and Gregg (Blundell, physio), so I've just been spinning so far and hopefully after I go back for my check-up, I'll be allowed to start running again and join in with the lads again."
