Super-sub Tubbs up and running

Matt Tubbs spoke of his frustration after scoring as a substitute for Bournemouth in a 1-1 home draw with Hartlepool.

Hartlepool looked destined to claim all three points thanks to Simon Walton's 73rd-minute penalty until Tubbs, on for Josh McQuoid, struck for his first goal of the season. Tubbs said: "To get on and score the equaliser was a great feeling. But we can play a lot better than that. We were not at the races and just never got going. From our point of view it was two points dropped. "I don't score too many goal outside the box so it was handy it fell off Wes Fogden straight into my path. I think the defender took his eye off the ball. "For the fans to chant my name when I was sitting on the bench was great because I am a local lad. It has been a frustrating start to the season for me. I am not used to sitting on the bench so it is a bit new to me. "I have got to remain professional and wait for my turn and scoring this goal has done me the world of good. I have to remember it is a team game and the manager has his own opinions. I hope to start the game against Brentford on Tuesday."
