Whittingham praise team spirit

Guy Whittingham hailed the character showed by his players as Portsmouth twice came from behind to draw at Tranmere.

Goals from Gabor Gyepes and Jake Jervis cancelled out efforts from Ash Taylor and Michael O'Halloran respectively. "I'm delighted with that point. To go twice a goal down and come back again shows that there's a spirit building," said Whittingham. "On the back of those seven defeats, it's nice to know that the lads have still got a lot of fight in them and haven't given up. "That's very important because we've got tough times ahead. It's nice to know that there's a real character in that dressing room and they all want to fight for each other. "It's a good point, it'll be great point if we win our home game against Preston next week. It's great for morale and spirit. "I felt we were fairly comfortable apart from set pieces. We didn't win enough initial headers from the first ball and that was the problem we were having and we switched off for the goal. "Apart from that, I don't think they really caused us that many problems."
