Moore praise for Goodison

Ronnie Moore has heaped praise on veteran defender Ian Goodison as he stands on the verge of his 400th game for Tranmere.

The 40-year-old competed in his 399th game against Swindon on Saturday and will break the milestone barrier if Moore picks him against Bradford on Sunday. "To still be playing and playing the way he is playing at 40 is remarkable. He's an out and out legend," Moore told the club's official website. "He's a quiet assassin, he's very clever in what he does. He throws fear into strikers' hearts and that's something that in the modern day you don't see very often. "He's still a massive, important player for us. He's a one-off. He hardly trains and then comes and plays on a Saturday and produces what he produces. "People say legend a bit lightly, but he is a legend. He's a fantastic player and a fantastic person as well." The Jamaica international has played 162 times under Moore during the manager's two spells in charge at Prenton Park.
