Preston midfielder Nicky Wroe has returned to Shrewsbury on loan to cover for the injured Luke Summerfield.
Wroe made 64 appearances for the Shrews before leaving for North End in May 2012. He was a regular last term but has struggled for game time in 2013-14. The 28-year-old has rejoined Shrewsbury until December 1, although he can be recalled by their League One rivals after 28 days. Wroe is likely to go straight into the starting line-up for Town's clash at Brentford on Saturday. He is also free to play for the club in the FA Cup first round next month.
