Jackson clarifies Hutchings role

Shrewsbury caretaker boss Mike Jackson has moved to clarify reports over Chris Hutchings' involvement at the League One club.

Former Walsall manager Hutchings attended last weekend's 1-1 draw against Brentford at the Greenhous Meadow to run his eye over Shrews ahead of joining in with a couple of coaching sessions this week. But Jackson, who is holding the reins after Graham Turner's resignation, insists Hutchings has not - yet at least - joined the League One club permanently. And although he is keen for help from an experienced hand, Jackson acknowledges the decision is an important one and not to be rushed. "Chris came and did a session on Tuesday and he will be in again today (Thursday) and it is still a case of us looking at him and him looking at us," Jackson told Town's official website. "There is nothing concrete as yet and, as I spoke before, it is a massive decision for me to make and one I won't make a quick judgement on or rush in to as it's too important. "At the end of the day it's my decision and I will live and die by those and if I don't get them right then it's me to blame. "I've worked under some great managers and coaches and it's always good to have a few different voices on the training pitch. "I remember when I was at Preston with David Moyes, he would bring in three or four different coaches over time to take a session, friends of his and coaches, and that was always a good change."
