Midfield pairing pleases Knill

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill is excited about Michael O'Connor and Oliver Norwood's burgeoning centre-midfield partnership.

The former Bury boss has been forced into playing the pair together due to a series of injuries at Glanford Park. However, Knill is far from despondent, insisting they are getting better with every game. "It's shaping up," he told the club's official website. "On Saturday at MK Dons I felt they played really well. "They're working really hard in keeping us solid through and consequently we don't look as likely to concede as we did before. "Sometimes you have to curb the enthusiasm of them as a pair and keep the shape. We're delighted with them and, because they're so young and both want to get better, I'm sure they will improve."
