Kuqi earns widespread praise

Midfielder Tom Adeyemi and manager Paul Dickov have paid glowing tributes to Oldham Athletic's top scorer Shefki Kuqi.

The 35-year-old Finn grabbed his 13th goal of the season in Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy triumph over Bradford after on-loan Norwich youngster Adeyemi opened the scoring in the 61st minute. "Shefki is one of those players who can score at any time," said Adeyemi. "He gets in the right positions. "That's something that maybe I can learn from him. As a midfielder, I want to be getting as many goals as possible. I think it's really good to have someone like him who can just pop up with a goal whenever." Dickov added: "Shefki keeps doing the right things. That's how he's played at the top level for most of his career - he scores goals. "Whether he's playing well, whether he's having an indifferent game - regardless of what's happening in a match he will pop up and get a chance. That's why we keep Shefki on the pitch because he will score you a goal."
