Zoko happy with cameo role

Carlisle striker Francois Zoko insists he will not ask manager Greg Abbott why he is not starting after his latest super-sub appearance.

The Cumbrians were 3-1 down against Oldham on Saturday when Zoko was introduced as a half-time substitute, and he reduced the deficit before grabbing the equaliser in the fifth minute of injury time. "I was delighted to get the goals," Zoko told Carlisle's official website. "It doesn't matter to me whether I play for five minutes, for 45 minutes or the whole game, I just want to do my best for the team. "The manager has to make his selection every week and I accept that. All I will say is that I am a competitor and I want to play. "Last season I played a lot of games and I can't ever say that I am happy to be on the bench. "I talk to the gaffer a lot, but I will never ask him why I'm not playing. All I can say to him is that I am ready and then it is his choice who he picks."
