MK Dons defender Gary MacKenzie has apologised for being sent off for a headbutt in Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat at Charlton.
However, the Scot insists he was reacting to an inital butt from Addicks striker Yann Kermorgant. "I'd like to apologise to my team-mates, my manager and the fans," he told BBC Three Counties Radio. "On the incident, firstly I made a good clearance, I was kicked to the ground and when I confronted the player he headbutted me. "I retaliated which obviously was wrong, I should have alerted the referee or the linesman. "That was my take on it, I know I shouldn't have retaliated but I find it hard that half the stadium can see something but the referee and linesman can't."
