Pesch can't bring Malone home

Burton manager Paul Peschisolido admits the club will most likely be unable to afford to bring back Scott Malone.

The versatile 20-year-old full-back had a successful spell on loan from Wolves this season, making 18 league appearances and scoring four goals. "I think Wolves would probably be willing to sell, but a figure of £150,000 has been mentioned," Burton boss Peschisolido told the Burton Mail. "That would put Scotty way out of our league financially, but I also think he's keen to play higher than League Two if he decides not to take up the offer of a new contract at Wolves. "Either way, he's going to cost the sort of money we haven't got because Wolves will either ask a fee for him or seek compensation at a tribunal. "I'm always interested in signing quality players and he certainly falls into that category, but I think we have to be realistic and accept that our chances of signing him permanently are very slim."
