Kedwell poised for league start

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler has hinted that striker Danny Kedwell will start against Northampton this weekend.

Kedwell has been out with a toe injury but he featured from the bench in the defeats at Swindon and Morecambe, and Hessenthaler feels training this week will help the former AFC Wimbledon forward. "Keds is on his way back but he's not done a lot of training," Hessenthaler told Sky Sports. "We just felt he needed a full week's training this week and we'll have him back for the weekend. There's every chance he'll start the game." Gills will be looking to bounce back after back-to-back losses. Hessenthaler added: "We're quite good at home. We always put pressure on ourselves every time we come away and get beaten. We've got to put a big performance in against Northampton."
