Strikers earn Slade plaudits

Russell Slade hailed his Leyton Orient strikers after the O's it five wins out of five with a 2-1 win at Colchester.

David Mooney and Kevin Lisbie both scored against their old club to secure the O's another victory and make it 10 goals between them this season. Slade said: "My strikers are in the form of their life at the start of the season, which is what you want. "They've both got five apiece and they're looking so potent at the minute it's frightening. "It was a tough game and it was always going to be that, on the back of the 120 minutes we had (against Hull City). "The big thing I asked them was to go that extra mile and there's not much traffic in that extra mile, because there are not many people who get there, but my players got there. "Colchester threw the kitchen sink at us and the big keeper went up for them at the end. "We had the opportunity to wrap the game up at the end with Shaun (Batt), but we didn't take it. "But it didn't matter in the end and we still managed to get the points, which is the most important thing." Orient took the lead after 13 minutes when Dean Cox picked out Mooney in the area and the Irishman controlled well before lashing home against his old club. Sam Walker denied Lisbie before Colchester equalised 10 minutes before half-time through Jabo Ibehre, who slotted low past Jones from just inside the area after Craig Eastmond had picked him out. But Lisbie headed home the winner at the far post from Cox's cross, just after the hour. Colchester had a penalty appeal rejected when substitute Drey Wright went down under Scott Cuthbert's challenge in the area and although substitute Batt fluffed a late chance, Orient won again.
